WEATHER IN SYDNEY

SUMMER (December – February)

The summer in Sydney tends to vary, but it is generally warm to hot.  The average temperatures range from 18.6°C – 25.8°C (65.5 – 78.4°F), and the average humidity spikes to 65%. On extreme occasions, the coast would have a temperature of 25 °C with a sea breeze, while a suburb of 30 km inland bakes in 38 °C heat.

AUTUMN (March-May)

The Autumn starts in March where maximum temperatures during the day hover around 25 °C (77 °F) and 29 °C (84 °F) with the dewpoint being around 16 °C (61 °F) and 17 °C (63 °F) on average.

At night gets a little bit cooler and crispier.

WINTER (June – August)

The coolest months are June to August when average temperatures drop between 8.8 – 17°C (47.8 – 62.6°F). Generally, the rainfall is highest in June, and July is the coolest month during Sydney’s wintertime, temperatures reach just 13°C (55°F). 

SPRING (September – November)

The Spring days are warmer, but the humidity is not as high as summer. Average daily temperatures range from 11 – 23°C (51.8 – 73.4°F).

The second-largest city in Australia and the capital of the state of Victoria, Melbourne is a beautiful and diverse city, voted one of the most student-friendly cities in the world, and also voted the world’s most liveable city for six consecutive years. The city has a lively passion for social eating and drinking, which is reflected in the thousands of restaurants serving up gastronomic experiences from around the world. Melbourne has many beautiful parks, galleries, shopping and the nightlife is great. Melbourne is perhaps Australia’s most cultured and politically conservative city.

Located at the head of Port Phillip Bay, on the southeastern coast, it is second only to Sydney in population, and there is a good-natured rivalry between the two cities.

WEATHER IN MELBOURNE

Melbourne’s weather results from the eastward flow of high-pressure cells separated by low-pressure troughs.

SUMMER (December – February)

A Melbourne summer typical day is warm and sunny, with a freshening sea breeze arriving from the south in the afternoon. The temperatures usually are between 14 – 25.3°C (57.2 – 77.5°F). A few days are cool, cloudy, and dry, with occasional hot spells that can last more than three days. Melbourne’s top temperatures are usually in January and February when temperatures can occasionally soar past 30°C (86°F).

AUTUMN (March – May)

Autumn in Melbourne is market by morning fog, sunny days. Hot weather can be experienced in the first fortnight, when the temperature is about 35ºC.  it comes accompanied by a strong northerly wind during the day. The nights are quite cool with temperatures falling below 10ºC several times a week.

WINTER (June – August)

The winter in Melbourne can be very cold, you won’t experience ice storms or blizzards. At this chilly season, Australians get busy with a schedule of cultural events, which showcase everything from food to films.

SPRING (September – November)

Springtime visitors will enjoy blooming flowers and rising temps. The maximum temperature exceeds 25ºC, however, it also fails to reach 15ºC once a week. Nights are usually mild, and many days are windy. Warm to hot and sunny days and cold and showery days may follow each other in rapid succession.

Australia’s third-largest city, with a population of about 2 million people, Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, and it is one of the country’s most beautiful cities. Known for its passionate die-hard sporting fans, the people of Brisbane are also extremely friendly. Modern architecture has taken over the city, and it has few legacies left from those early days of colonisation. Brisbane is a cosmopolitan hub for arts, culture and dining but still retains a close connection with nature and a classic laid-back Queensland attitude. WEATHER IN BRISBANE

The climate is subtropical with hot, humid summers and dry moderately warm winters. When the wet season hits the northern Australian tropics, Brisbane enjoys hot and clear summer days (with afternoon thunderstorms). When winter hits the southern capitals of Sydney and Melbourne sending temperatures into the low teens The Brisbane climate stays mostly dry and sunny, with daytime temperatures usually remaining above 20°C. SUMMER (December – February)

In Brisbane during the summertime, the average temperatures range from 21 – 29.8°C, and the city has its highest rainfall, which can bring thunderstorms and occasional floods. During the height of summer, temperatures can reach as high as 40-45°C. but on most summer days, maximum daytime temperatures rise to 31-33°C.

AUTUMN (March-May)

March is the beginning of autumn but that doesn’t mean it will be considerably cooler in Brisbane. Autumn is a more comfortable month since the humidity levels begin to drop and the north-easterly trade winds responsible for the humid conditions have disappeared. Autumn signals the end of the hot summer when average temperatures drop between 15 – 25°C, and the city experiences low humidity and less rain.  The winds begin to blow in from the southeast and encourage short, sharp showers to spill over onto the coastal parts of Brisbane’s suburbs.

WINTER (June – August)

Winter is not really that cold in Brisbane. Weather in winter is generally dry and mild with mean temperatures between 11 – 21°C. The winter in Brisbane is dry, with August and September averaging the sunniest days than any other month. You can still wear shorts during the day, but long pants are recommended for the nights, whilst a jacket or cardigan is also a good idea.

SPRING (September – November)

September is the beginning of spring and with that comes the arrival of the westerly winds. Spring in Brisbane is not too hot and not too cold, it’s just right.  The spring climate is similar to autumn, with average temperatures between 15 – 25°C.

Ranked in the top 10 as one of the most liveable cities in the world, Perth is the capital city of Western Australia. The city has grown rapidly and seen tremendous revitalisation boosted by strong industry sector growth as well as population growth. Perth is the fourth largest city in Australia and home to 1.9 million people. Surrounded by white sand beaches and scenic parklands Perth has an abundance of native animals and marine life. It’s easy to get around the city by bus or train or on foot. The metropolitan area is linked by efficient freeways, highways, railway lines and cycle paths.

WEATHER IN PERTH

Perth has a mixture of the Californian and Mediterranean climates, with mild winters and hot dry summers. Most of the year, the Perth weather is fine and sunny, and even during the short mild winter, the sun is often shining.

SUMMER (December – February)

The official start of summer in Perth is December, finishing three months later at the end of February. The summer months are hot with an average temperature of 29 degrees Celsius during the day, and 17 degrees Celsius at night. However, in the afternoons, a sea breeze called the ‘Fremantle Doctor’ provides some relief from the heat.

AUTUMN (Mar-May)

Autumn begins in March and finishes at the end of May, although autumn in Perth is not typical of autumn’s most people would be familiar with. Autumn in Perth is like an extension of summer, or perhaps a second spring. During autumn Perth experiences warm, sunny days and cooler nights with average temperatures between 13.7 – 26°C.

WINTER (June – August)

The winter months in Perth are from June to August and are mild, with an average temperature of 18 degrees during the day, and 9 degrees C at night. It is generally a rainy season, mingled with cool sunny days.

SPRING (September – November)

Spring begins in September in Perth, and from this time on, the weather quickly warms to fine sunny conditions for the many months ahead. During spring, days are warm and sunny with average temperatures ranging from 11.7 – 23°C.

WEATHER IN GOLD COAST

 The Gold Coast experiences a humid subtropical climate, with warm winters and hot, humid summers.

 SUMMER (December – February)

Summer weather is hot to very hot, with high humidity with some spectacular summer storms. The temperatures range from 19 to 29 degrees. February is the wettest month, and short, tropical storms are common in the late afternoon and early evening.

AUTUMN (March – May)

Autumn is still warm to hot during the days and slightly cooler at night. Humidity drops and there is less rain. In Autumn sunny days are followed by cooler nights with average temperatures between 18 – 25.7°C

WINTER (June – August)

Winter temperatures range from an average of 9 to 21 degrees. Clear blue skies and warm days. Crisper evenings and early mornings. Lower humidity.

SPRING (September – November)

Daytime temperatures build quickly through September along with humidity. Sunny days are followed by mild tropical evenings and average temperatures range from 16.9 – 25.4°C. Just about perfect for any activities in Gold Coast, and the whales are still here till early November.
